Back in school again!

I'm really struggling with this term. I'm not sure if it's because I'm sick of school in general or if it's just because of the problems I'm having with my courses, but I'm having a difficult time.

First, I signed up for French and math this term, to use towards my teacher's college application. Math is useful for teaching elementary school, and it looks really good on the teacher's college application, while French is a continuation: I only need two more French courses to attain my French certificate. A certificate in French means that I am qualified to teach French immersion.

The first problem I encountered was on my first day back to school. I had French first thing, and I didn't understand a single word that anyone said during the whole class. I also struggled with math, but since I have Barry and Mylene for support, I decided to stick it out. But then, in a twist of fate, I found out that the admissions to teachers college only looks at completed courses as of the application deadline, which is November 30. Neither my math course nor my French certificate will be on my application.

So, I immediately dropped the math because it was of absolutely no use to me. I replaced it with another English class, to finish up my English requirements more quickly. I decided to stick with the French though, since a French certificate will help me get a teaching job.

I thought I had everything all worked out at the end of last week, and was looking forward to this week being normal. Then I went to French this morning and didn't understand anything again. The TA called on me, and I was unable to answer any of her questions. I started crying in the middle of class, and stressed about it for the rest of the day.

So....now I might be dropping French too. I talked to my academic adviser and emailed the head of the French department to try to find a way to be successful in this course, but I don't think it's going to work out. Now my problem is trying to find a course to replace the French, which is nearly impossible. The only courses that are even remotely interesting to me are English courses, and I already have 4 this term.

Stay tuned for updates!
