So Barry and I got back from Jamaica early on Monday morning. We had the best time! We arrived at the Riu Ocho Rios on Sunday (January 7) at about 11:00pm, and the next seven days were a blur of beach, pool, waterfalls and a glow in the dark lagoon. Kate and Steve got married on Friday on the beach, and we all celebrated with lots of rum. I know everyone will want to see the pictures, so I'll put some up on here now, and more later! No problem.
...Oh ya, that's one of the catch-phrases we learned in Jamaica. There were a few: "Ya mon!"; "No problem"; "That's no lie"; and "Irie" (meaning "everything's all right). At first you think it's a tourist thing, and that the Jamaicans only say "ya mon" and "no problem" for effect, but they say it all the time, even in conversation with each other.
Lots of Bob Marley music, lots of rum, and lots of Jamaicans in town trying to sell us souvenirs and "smoke." It was fun, and made for some funny conversations back at the resort. Everyone in our group was approached in some way or another by the local vendors for some reason or another.
I can't wait to go on another trip to the carribean!

WOW!
Thanks for the pictures and I am very impressed you made an entry so soon after you got back home. I figured it would take you a bit to get back into the routine of the real world, cause lets face it you just spent the last seven days not in the real world, before you thought about sending some pictures out to us. Thanks for that and I look forward to seeing more and hearing all about it.
Glad you had a good time, now you have been bitten by the travel bug and you will want to do this every year. By the way there is no cure.
Lots of Love Auntie Debbie.
