Easter Fun

This picture of my dad was taken quite late at night (or early in the morning, how ever you want to look at it) after quite a few beers...

With such a busy Easter weekend, I barely had time to take any pictures, but when my dad started colouring Easter eggs in a Easter Bunny bow tie, I couldn't resist. After we all had a chance to wear the bow tie, and we all had way too much to drink, we went to bed so the Easter Bunny could come.

Taylor was super excited at all the cool things that the Easter Bunny had brought her, but she definitely liked the bubble gun the best. You hook the bubbles up to the "gun" and pull the trigger. Air flows through the gun and blows bubbles with no effort at all. It was pretty cool. Barry and I are thinking we might get some of those for our wedding!

We had Easter dinner at Dar and Denny's on Saturday night, while we watched the Masters and Hockey. The dinner was very tasty. Then we visited Barry's dad on the way back to London for crazy drunken Easter egg colouring. We came back to Waterloo yesterday and have been relaxing ever since. It sure was a crazy weekend.

One thing we definitely decided after talking to our families on the weekend, we will make some important decisions this month about our wedding. We are going to choose a date and a location. Our choices for location are either a destination wedding (in Cuba or the Dominican Republic) or a wedding at home. As for the date, it will definitely be next summer, we just have to pick one day, or one week if it is a destination wedding. As we promised our families this weekend, we will know and let everyone else know by the end of the month.

As for my time right now, it is being spent studying for and writing exams. I have my first exam tomorrow night, and then I have two on Thursday, one on Friday and my last one next Tuesday (Julianne's birthday!) After that, I will tackle my spring cleaning that has seriously been neglected and really work on wedding planning.

I bought a wedding planner, but I have done nothing with it, except look at it. There are things I can fill in like: our names and information about the proposal, but I haven't had time yet. Let me just tell you, it has been really hard to not focus on wedding planning and focus on school work instead. In fact, I've actually cheated a little and started looking online and at wedding magazines for study breaks and at bed time.

Announcing...

...Our engagement!

That's right, Barry and I are engaged! Barry proposed on Thursday, March 8. We went out to the Keg for dinner to celebrate Barry's birthday and he tricked me by proposing at the end of his own birthday dinner!

I had gone to London on Wednesday after my classes were done, and when I came back on Thursday, we made the plans to go out for dinner. When Barry picked me up after work, I took my camera along with me so Barry could see the pictures of John I had taken while I was in London. We ended up having someone from the next table taking our picture right after we got engaged. It was really cool!

Everyone has been asking me how he proposed. It was really cool. We were holding hands across the table, and he told me he was going to make me smile. Then he made me close my eyes and he opened my hands. He placed the ring box in my hands and told me to open my eyes. When I did, I couldn't believe what I was seeing! I was totally caught of guard. It was the coolest feeling ever!

We are waiting until I am finished up the term at school before we start making any wedding plans, but we know we want to get married next year (2008) some time. Right now we are just enjoying being engaged.

We do have plans to create a new blog that is all about our engagement and wedding plans once I'm finished my exams so that everyone in our family can be updated about the progress and so we will have something to look back on and remember this special time in our relationship. We are so excited!

More Pictures of John

Well, I took a trip to London this week and saw my nephew in person. He's pretty awesome. I took lots of pictures, so I'm posting them here for those of you who are out of town and don't get to see him right away.

Welcome John Matthew Mark Gammon!

This evening at 6:31 pm, John Matthew Mark Gammon arrived. A bouncing boy, 9lbs 5oz. Unfortunately, I have yet to see him because the 401 and all other routes to London were closed this afternoon due to blowing and drifting snow. I literally could not get to London. It was the worst. But hopefully I will have some pictures of little John soon, as my family is frantically working with their dial-up connection to send them.

Barry and I went to London this weekend to celebrate his birthday and his dad's birthday (and also in the hopes we would be celebrating the birth of John - but no such luck!) We visited Barry's Dad and step mom, who have a new puppy. He is a pug, and his name is Shilo (not sure of the spelling though). He is adorable.

We also got some great pictures of Kacee and Taylor for the few seconds that they sat still. They hadn't seen each other in a while because Kacee and then Dave were sick, and then Kacee got the chicken pox. So they had a great time running around and didn't want their play time interrupted!

I'll post pictures of John as soon as I have them!

HAPPY BIRTHDAYS

So this month (and especially in the last week) my family had a lot of birthdays! So, happy birthday to:
Lori, Lisa, Vince, Nathaniel and Rheann.

Next month there are a lot of birthdays too:
Roger (Barry's dad), Barry, Scott, Amanda, and Noah

You know, there are a lot of people in my family who share birthdays, except me. I don't even have anyone in my family who has their birthday in the same month as me. But a lot of my friends have their birthdays in the same month as me. Strange!

Which Celebrity do I Look Like?

This is pretty cool. Some of my friends on Facebook introduced this idea to me. You can upload a picture of yourself to this website and it will match your face with pictures of celebrities that you look like. It's quite flattering!

Spoiled Cat

here are some pics of Poe's new tree house. Barry bought it for her a few weeks ago, and she absolutely loves it! She is so spoiled!

Poe is still playing fetch, which is crazy. I've never seen a cat do that before, but it's a lot of fun (not so much when she wants to play at 5am). Lately she has been pretty crazy, and very meow-y (if that's a word).

She is going to the vet on March 14th to have an operation; she's going to be spayed. We hate to put her through that, but it's much better for her health and we should help control the pet population. Really, we just don't want to end up with a bunch of kittens running around here! She will have to wear a cone for a week after her surgery, I feel so bad! But she still has a whole month before she has to go through all that. So we can spoil her I guess if we want to!

Fantasia Party

So I had my Fantasia party on Saturday night, and I think it is safe to say that we all had a good time. (I may have had more fun than some people, since I think I was by far the most intoxicated person in Waterloo that night). Our Fantasia consultant, Donna was really nice, even if she was almost two hours late. In total, people spent about $600, which meant I got $60 in free products, plus two free prizes for having a successful party. It was definitely worth it! I don't have many pictures, but I think some other people took some pictures that I can maybe share later.

More Jamaica Pics

I guess I should also put more Jamaica pics up here, especially for Dave and Robin and Auntie Debbie. I promised I would!

Lazy Lazy Lazy

So I've been pretty lazy lately...
and also busy with school. I haven't posted in a while, mostly because my camera is out of batteries and I haven't recharged them. I usually have two sets of batteries on the go, but one set got stolen in Jamaica. It's sad but true.

Anyway, Taylor has been asking to see Poe, and I have a new picture of her from before I went to Jamaica that I guess I could post...

On the other hand, I guess I don't really need to post pictures do I?

Lots of stuff is coming up that I will be able to post about. Like Valentine's Day, my Fantasia Party, and the new baby coming this month! Lots of exciting things going on!

Here you go Taylor!

Crazy Hair

When I went to Jamaica I got braids put in my hair. These are the before and after pictures. I think they are hilarious!
