Announcing...

...Our engagement!

That's right, Barry and I are engaged! Barry proposed on Thursday, March 8. We went out to the Keg for dinner to celebrate Barry's birthday and he tricked me by proposing at the end of his own birthday dinner!

I had gone to London on Wednesday after my classes were done, and when I came back on Thursday, we made the plans to go out for dinner. When Barry picked me up after work, I took my camera along with me so Barry could see the pictures of John I had taken while I was in London. We ended up having someone from the next table taking our picture right after we got engaged. It was really cool!

Everyone has been asking me how he proposed. It was really cool. We were holding hands across the table, and he told me he was going to make me smile. Then he made me close my eyes and he opened my hands. He placed the ring box in my hands and told me to open my eyes. When I did, I couldn't believe what I was seeing! I was totally caught of guard. It was the coolest feeling ever!

We are waiting until I am finished up the term at school before we start making any wedding plans, but we know we want to get married next year (2008) some time. Right now we are just enjoying being engaged.

We do have plans to create a new blog that is all about our engagement and wedding plans once I'm finished my exams so that everyone in our family can be updated about the progress and so we will have something to look back on and remember this special time in our relationship. We are so excited!

More Pictures of John

Well, I took a trip to London this week and saw my nephew in person. He's pretty awesome. I took lots of pictures, so I'm posting them here for those of you who are out of town and don't get to see him right away.

Welcome John Matthew Mark Gammon!

This evening at 6:31 pm, John Matthew Mark Gammon arrived. A bouncing boy, 9lbs 5oz. Unfortunately, I have yet to see him because the 401 and all other routes to London were closed this afternoon due to blowing and drifting snow. I literally could not get to London. It was the worst. But hopefully I will have some pictures of little John soon, as my family is frantically working with their dial-up connection to send them.

Barry and I went to London this weekend to celebrate his birthday and his dad's birthday (and also in the hopes we would be celebrating the birth of John - but no such luck!) We visited Barry's Dad and step mom, who have a new puppy. He is a pug, and his name is Shilo (not sure of the spelling though). He is adorable.

We also got some great pictures of Kacee and Taylor for the few seconds that they sat still. They hadn't seen each other in a while because Kacee and then Dave were sick, and then Kacee got the chicken pox. So they had a great time running around and didn't want their play time interrupted!

I'll post pictures of John as soon as I have them!
